Thank you so much for a wonderful time. Beautiful views accentuate your wonderful property. We have had such a special time here and will most definately be back so we can have more time to go horse riding and do your walks.
Wiseman is great!
Excellent Pastry & Dessert Chefs outstanding. The Gogo special is value for money.
We've had a wonderful restful relaxing holiday - everything was great except for the dull dreary depressing lounge. Not a place where one wants to spend any time at all.
We have stayed here often & each time had an excellent holiday. The food has improved wonderfully and the desserts!! The surrounds are so peaceful and serene, the mountains are always for me, food for my soul. We relaxed completely & look forward to another stay here in the future. Thank you so much!! PS. Our treatments at the spa were absolutely wonderful. Your therapist is wonderful!!
We enjoyed the hikes. Pool is lovely. Nice staff.
Fantastic place, and hope we can come back.
Lovely hotel I had a great stay. All staff are warm, welcoming & very helpful. Thank you
Good value for money.
Very good reservation procedures.
As this was the third place where it appeared no one seemed to have taken any notice of my e-mail stating my allergy and I was getting a little annoyed. It was after a discussion with banqueting staff they seemed to understand and my holiday was perfect. I cannot thank the staff enough for their help and kindness.
Impressed by the the tidiness and appearance of grounds & gardens.
Overall cleanliness and comfort of rooms was good.
A most enjoyable stay. We will be back - and will tell our friends.
Overall friendliness and hospitality of general staff was good.
Good experience vs expectation
Been here many times. Jerome and Wiseman impressed me the most.
Wonderful amazing waiter service and food quality and variety. I cannot choose from the staff who impressed me the most they were all wonderful towards us. So i have to say they all impressed me.
February 2015 marked our second stay at the Cathedral Peak Hotel. Relaxation and peace flooded into our over busy lives as we drank in the sheer beauty and tranquility of the hotel and its environment. Over our four day stay we made full use of the guided walks (expert guides), the swimming pool, the chance to bird watch, the outdoor chess board - and not to forget the varied and scrumptious food and teas on the terrace, and friendly, helpful staff.. We have stayed in various hotels around the world but none surpass Cathedral Peak Hotel. Then there is HISTORY. Opened in 1938, it is where my parents met in December 1942. Frederick Cope from China was an exchange prisoner between Japan and Britain. He disembarked at Lourenco Marques (Maputo) and rapidly secured a job with the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) in Johannesburg. However, after 9 months in solitary confinement and a rough sea voyage he was in no fit state to start work. So the IDC sent him to Cathedral Peak to recover! ROMANCE After 2 months of mountain air and nourishment, and having just climbed the great Cathedral Peak, Fred, the 52 year old bachelor, was rearing to go. Then on 1 December 1942, Ethel Glaister, acting matron of Harrismith Hospital turned up. Quite a story! By 21 December 1942 Fred and Ethel were married - and lived happily ever after; It wasn't even Valentines Day! We hope to be back soon and want to say to anyone reading this: Don't pass by a chance to stay at Cathedral Peak Hotel. A few days there may refresh you for months! Have come to Cathedral Peak Hotel since 1984 and have always enjoyed our visits. Latest stay has been amazing.
